  • Age Limits

Rotary International no longer sets an upper age limit for Rotaract membership. Rotaractors are recognised as a Rotary membership type, and clubs may determine their own age criteria in line with Rotary rules and member agreement.

Rotaract GBI supports an approach that distinguishes between the age limit to join a Rotaract club and the age limit to continue a Rotaractor.

  • Club Structure

A strong and effective Rotaract club is built on capable leadership, clear structure, and engaged membership.

This guidance provides clubs with an overview of the role of MyRotary, membership types, club leadership roles and structures.

  • Constitution and Bylaws

The Constitution and Bylaws of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland are the foundational documents that define how we operate as a network of Rotaractors across multiple districts. They set out our structure, outline the roles and responsibilities of our leadership, and describe how decisions are made.

  • Definitions

Rotaract uses a number of terms and abbreviations.

We’ve created a list of definitions to ensure a shared understanding of the language and references used as part of our work.

  • District Rotaract Representatives

District Rotaract Representatives (DRRs) provides a vital link between Rotaractors, Rotaract clubs, Rotary in their districts and Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland.

Our overview of the role of the DRR, along with the District Rotaract Committee and Rotaract GBI, brings together key guidance and policy drawn from sources including the Rotaract Handbook, the Rotary Code of Policies and Rotaract GBI’s Bylaws. Its purpose is to support District Governors in establishing, empowering, and effectively working with DRRs.

  • Rotaract Advisor

The role of the Rotaract Advisor is to support a Rotaract to become successful.

Although only one adviser can be reported to Rotary International for each Rotaract club, Rotaractors benefit from having several advisers, from several different backgrounds and perspectives, who can help mentor and support their club. This guidance about the role of Rotaract Advisor goes into details about what the role looks like and who is best placed to provide that support.

  • Rotaract GBI's Brand Guidelines

These guidelines are here to help you understand and use our brand. They’ll outline the main elements of our visual identity but our brand is much more than our logo. It represents who we are and what we stand for, our values and how we approach our work. Over time our visual identity becomes synonymous with who we are, our reputation and people’s experience of us.

  • Strategy

Our strategy sets out how we will deliver high quality foundations and opportunities to our members, the people who bring the momentum to our network. It reflects our commitment to uplifting every club and every Rotaractor, wherever they are on their journey. It is centred on four core pillars: Build, Grow, Support, and Empower.

Our strategy also includes our therapy of change along with purpose, vision, mission and value statements.

  • Talking About Rotaract

Rotaract is spoken about every day by countless people across a wide variety of spaces and contexts, but the descriptions of what Rotaract is, what Rotaractors do, and how Rotaract clubs work are not always consistent.

Our guidance aims to address that challenge by establishing a clear, consistent language for talking about Rotaract, Rotaractors, and Rotaract clubs.

Let’s work together.
