Our Board of Directors
Members of our Board of Directors are Rotaractors from a range of different Rotaract clubs within Great Britain and Ireland and they provide support, guidance, training, and opportunities to Rotaract clubs and their members.
Representing Rotaract, the Board is committed to the delivery of our strategy of “Build, Support, Grow, Empower” to build a sense of community and common purpose, provide information, facilitate communication, offered leadership and professional development opportunities; all with the aim of creating lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in the people who work to make a difference while also ensuring our network continues to impact and thrive long term.
From the 1st July, every year, a new Board of Directors takes office with the responsibility of leading Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland. It’s the role of our Directors to make decisions, take actions and manage the affairs of the organisation, on behalf of, and in the best interests of, Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland. The Board works in service to our members and in partnership with Rotary and those who share our vision for the world.
Our Board’s membership consists of 75% of Directors elected by the Council, the group of District Rotaract Representatives. Elections are open to any eligible Rotaractor, and candidates are selected through a fair, transparent process using preferential voting. This ensures that our leadership is chosen democratically and reflects the diversity of Rotaract’s membership. The positions that the Council elects to are outlined in our By-Laws.
In addition, up to 25% of Directors are co-opted by the Board, with the Council’s approval. Co-option is used to bring in Rotaractors who have specialist skills, experience, or perspectives that complement the elected Directors. This allows us to strengthen the Board by filling gaps, ensuring a balance of knowledge, and making sure we have the right people in place to deliver our strategy effectively. Co-opted Directors serve the same term length as elected Directors.
Together, elected and co-opted Directors form a Board that is both representative of our membership and equipped with the expertise needed to support Rotaract clubs, deliver initiatives, and represent Rotaractors across Great Britain and Ireland.
The work of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland is led by our Chair who works to guide the Board’s strategy, uphold our values, and ensure that the voices of Rotaractors in every district are heard.
To support continuity and leadership development, the Chair is first elected as Chair-Elect by the Council, before stepping up to lead the following year to serve their one-year term.
“It is an honour to be selected to lead Rotaract in Great Britain and Ireland this year, and a privilege to work with the entire Board. Every day, I see the passion, creativity and determination of Rotaractors making a real difference in their communities. Together, we are proving that when Rotaractors come together with purpose, we can achieve extraordinary things.”

Director of Transformation
In August 2025, the Board of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland co-opted a ‘Director of Transformation’. The Director of Transformation is responsible for leading, coordinating, and driving forward the organisational development and long-term evolution of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland. This role ensures that the Multi-District Information Organisation’s structures, systems, and practices are fit for purpose, forward-looking, and aligned with the four strategic pillars of Build, Grow, Support, and Empower.
The Director of Transformation operates across all areas of the organisation, working closely with the Board, Directors, and wider stakeholders to identify gaps, reduce duplication, and introduce more consistent and sustainable ways of working. The role is focused on enabling change rather than delivering isolated projects, ensuring that transformation is embedded into everyday practice and not dependent on individual roles or personalities.
In addition, the Director of Transformation is responsible for monitoring progress against the Transformation Plan, reporting back to the Board on delivery, risks, and emerging priorities, and recommending course corrections where needed. By holding an organisation-wide view, the role supports the Board in making informed decisions, maintaining strategic focus, and ensuring that short-term actions contribute to long-term impact.
