About Us

Our network is full of passionate, driven people making a real difference around the world, in local communities and in themselves.

Since 1992, we’ve helped Rotaractors come together with a shared sense of community and common purpose.

Our Purpose

As a Multi-District Information Organisation (MDIO), we exist to connect, guide, and represent Rotaract clubs across Great Britain and Ireland (GBI). We provide a coordinated structure for collaboration, communication, and development - enabling clubs and Rotaractors to share knowledge, access resources, and amplify their collective impact. Through the MDIO, Rotaract GBI strengthens its voice, develops communities, and ensures every Rotaractor can thrive within a unified and sustainable network to contribute to a better, fairer world.

  • We envision a Rotaract movement where every member has a shared sense of community and common purpose which they use to create meaningful change - in their local communities, across the world, and within themselves.

  • We aim to deliver and host high-quality opportunities, resources, and guidance that enable every Rotaractor and club to flourish; nurture connection, leadership, and impact - helping our members turn ambition into action and create lasting positive change.

The A-B-C of Rotaract GBI

  • Assembly of Presidents

The Assembly is a forum for ongoing conversations, sharing of best practice, and peer-to-peer learning for club Presidents and President-Elects. It maintains direct and personal links between the MDIO and clubs.

  • Board of Directors

The Board is the executive team responsible for the day-to-day operation and strategic coordination of the MDIO. Directors make decisions, take appropriate actions, and manage the affairs of Rotaract GBI.

  • Council of District Rotaract Representatives

The role of the Council is to represent member districts within the MDIO, elect or appoint, and scrutinise the work of the Board. It acts as the governance body for the organisation.

Our Theory of Change

At Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland, we believe that when we build strong foundations, grow our reach, support our members, and empower them to lead, we create a ripple effect of positive change - for individuals, communities, and the wider world.

Our Theory of Change explains how the work we do leads to the outcomes and impact we aim to achieve. It is created around our four interconnected pillars which each contribute to a lasting and sustainable movement for good.

Through building, growing, supporting, and empowering, we will create a movement that stands the test of time - one that connects people, strengthens communities, and creates lasting positive change locally, across Great Britain and Ireland, and the wider world.

  • Build – Creating the foundations for sustainable impact

    • If we establish the right structures, systems, and governance,

    • Then we can ensure Rotaract GBI operates effectively, transparently, and sustainably.

    • This will lead to stronger coordination, better collaboration between clubs, and a clear sense of shared direction — enabling everything else we do to thrive.

  • Grow – Expanding our reach and influence

    • If we actively grow our network through new members, partnerships, and collaborations,

    • Then we can extend the reach and visibility of Rotaract across Great Britain and Ireland, and beyond.

    • This will leadto a diverse, vibrant, and sustainable movement with a stronger collective voice.

  • Support – Enabling every Rotaractor to thrive

    • If we provide the right tools, resources, and guidance,

    • Then we can help clubs and members deliver meaningful projects and grow in confidence and capability.

    • This will lead to a stronger, more connected network where every member feels equipped to succeed.

  • Empower – Developing leaders and changemakers

    • If we create opportunities for Rotaractors to lead, influence, and innovate,

    • Then we can nurture confident, capable young leaders who drive lasting change in their communities and beyond.

    • This will lead to a generation of socially conscious changemakers equipped to shape the world around them.

Every Rotaractor’s journey begins with a desire to make a difference. Together, we turn that desire into action.

Building communities, growing connections, supporting one another, and empowering ourselves to lead.

Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland is more than a network; it’s a movement powered by shared purpose and friendship. From local service projects to international collaborations, our members create ripples of positive change that reach far beyond themselves.

Our narrative is one of connection, service, and impact. It’s about young adults leading with compassion and courage, shaping a more hopeful and inclusive future - for our communities, and for the world.

Our Values

Our work and values are guided from the principles developed in the “Four-Way Test” as a framework that is shared within the Rotary network to help inform how we think, act, and serve. These values define who we are as Rotaractors and how we create impact together.

Together, these values guide our decisions, shape our culture, and inspire how we build, grow, support, and empower. They remind us that the way we work is just as important as the outcomes we achieve.

We stand for truth.

We are honest, transparent, and authentic in everything we do. We value integrity and accountability, recognising that trust is the foundation of meaningful change.

We act with fairness.

We strive to treat everyone with respect, equity, and compassion. Every decision we make considers the wellbeing and inclusion of all those involved.

We build goodwill & better friendships.

We believe that genuine connection is at the heart of Rotaract. Through collaboration, empathy, and kindness, we strengthen our community and create spaces where everyone feels they belong.

We seek benefits for all.

We aim for positive, lasting impact — in our clubs, our communities, and ourselves. Our actions are guided by a desire to uplift others and contribute to a better, fairer world.

The Constitution and Bylaws of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland are the foundational documents that define how we operate as a network of Rotaractors across multiple districts. They set out our structure, outline the roles and responsibilities of our leadership, and describe how decisions are made.

Rotary and Rotaract

Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Rotaract is a type of Rotary membership that is aimed at a young adult audience. With thousands of clubs worldwide, Rotaractors work together, in a way that works for them, to create meaningful change with benefits for all; supported by the Rotary eco-system.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

Working closely with Rotary, Rotaract provides opportunities for young leaders to develop skills, connect with like-minded peers, and collaborate across borders. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotary and Rotaract are changing communities like yours.
