The Board of Directors is the core executive team responsible for the day-to-day operation and strategic coordination of Rotaract GBI.
As a Multi-District Information Organisation, Rotaract GBI exists to connect, guide, and represent Rotaract clubs across Great Britain and Ireland. The incoming Board will build on this foundation, advancing the organisation’s vision and mission.
Our Vision
We envision a Rotaract movement where every member has a shared sense of community and common purpose which they use to create meaningful change - in their local communities, across the world, and within themselves.
Our Mission
We aim to deliver and host high-quality opportunities, resources, and guidance that enable every Rotaractor and club to flourish; nurture connection, leadership, and impact - helping our members turn ambition into action and create lasting positive change.
Rotaract GBI’s work is led by our Chair, Chloe Rollings, who took up the position on the 26th January this year, and will serve in the role until 30th June 2027.
As the principal representative of Rotaract GBI, the Chair plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across Great Britain, Ireland and the wider Rotary and Rotaract network. They provide oversight and accountability, ensuring the organisation remains focused on its purpose while championing the voices, ambitions and impact of Rotaractors throughout the network.
Speaking about the results of the election and welcoming the new Directors, Chloe said;
“I’m delighted to welcome our newly elected Board and to congratulate everyone who was successful in this year’s election. I’m incredibly proud to work alongside such a talented and passionate Board for the year ahead. Our team represents a wide geographical spread across Great Britain and Ireland, bringing together a diverse range of perspectives, experiences and ideas. A huge thank you to our District Rotaract Representatives, who took part in the election process on behalf of our 300-strong network of volunteers.”
Alongside the Chair, the Board’s membership includes the Chair-Elect, who will become the Chair for the 2027-2028 Rotary year, and five other elected Directors who are responsible for finance, experience, communication, action and training.
Directors are all Rotaractors from clubs across Great Britain and Ireland. Collectively, the new Board have almost 50 years of Rotaract experience - with many Directors also having other concurrent and additional experience of Rotary.
With the agreement of the Council, the Board also has the option to co-opt up to two additional Rotaractors who have specialist skills, experience, or perspectives that complement the elected Directors. The Board will be exploring options to make the best use of this provision.
Danny Brown, an award-winning youth work practitioner and consultant, moves from his co-opted position as Director of Transformation to become Chair-Elect.
Over the past year, Danny has led the development and delivery of the organisation’s strategic vision as part of wider efforts to ensure the Rotaract GBI is set up to succeed long into the future. He is now set to lead the organisation into 2028.
Speaking about his new role within Rotaract, Danny said;
“The development of our organisational strategy and policies, the rollout of new digital systems, and the introduction of new initiatives that offer opportunities for our network to engage, such as Presidents Assembly and Clubs Connect, have marked an important period of transformation for Rotaract GBI. As Chair-Elect, I am excited and driven to ensure this progress continues as we translate these foundations into tangible outcomes for clubs and Rotaractors across Great Britain and Ireland.”
Pooja Tirupati, with a wide background in accountancy, fund management and financial planning, joins the Board as Finance Director.
The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the management of Rotaract GBI’s finances. They ensure the organisation’s resources are managed responsibly so that every pound contributes meaningfully to Rotaract’s impact while also exploring ways to increase and diversify income.
In her introduction, Pooja says;
“Finance gave me a profession, Rotaract gave me a purpose, and the communities I've served gave me a reason to show up every single day.”
When asked about what she would like to achieve during her time as a Director and what Rotaract should look like in a year’s time she said;
“I want every club to feel that GBI has their back practically, financially, and wholeheartedly.
I want to see clubs that are not just active but infectious. Where the energy of one club sparks another. Where one great event inspires three more. Where Rotaractors across GBI are genuinely excited about what is coming next and where the community around them feels that excitement too.
I want to see Rotaract GBI telling its stories loudly and not just what events happened, but the human behind every event.”
Chris Wells, with the longest Rotaract membership of the incoming Board, joins as Training Director. He has a professional career built entirely around teaching people how to do complicated things, in his own words “without boring them to death”.
It will be Chris’s role to develop clear, practical and accessible resources that strengthen our network’s knowledge base, while developing a culture of learning across Rotaract GBI, encouraging people to explore new opportunities, develop their potential and share knowledge with one another.
In his application, Chris said;
“My vision is to use my contacts and experience to deliver training that people need and will want to consume.”
Following the election and when asked what he wants to achieve during this time in the role, Chris added;
“I want to help make engaging digital resources that last far beyond my role. I would love to create safe environments where people can share ideas, alongside a strong mentoring approach to give those with potential the support they need to step up and do more awesome stuff.”
Michael Mordecai, with a background in administration and specialist care, takes on the role of Experience Director.
The Experience Director plays an important role in shaping initiatives that support Rotaractors to have a positive, inclusive and impactful experience within Rotaract. It includes developing ways to strengthen engagement, understand our network’s needs and help Rotaractors feel connected to opportunities at club, GBI-wide and international level.
When asked what he would like to achieve during his time on the Board, Michael said;
“To accentuate our bonds between clubs and get to know each other from district to district - everyone has a voice. We've seen it possible to include our international friends in such conferences and charitable initiatives, so why stop there?”
In a years time, Michael said he wants Rotaract to be;
“Somewhere where members are more visibly seen for all the hard work they put into their clubs - volunteering is a fun pastime, but also hours out of their free time, where people should be recognised for it.”
Alongside this role, the Experience Director also represents the UK and Ireland within the European Rotaract Information Centre (ERIC) as Country Representative.
Rayan Tahtouh, an Investment Analyst with a background in Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, project management, and operations, returns to the Board to serve a second year as Communications Director.
The Communications Director shapes how Rotaract is publicly seen, heard and understood. Working closely with others, they also develop and deliver creative campaigns and messaging that celebrate Rotaract’s impact and support the organisation’s priorities.
In his application to be re-elected, Rayan said;
“I believe this role is not only about sharing updates, but about building community, inspiring involvement, and creating a stronger presence for Rotaract GBI.”
Following the vote and when asked what he was excited about and where he would like to see Rotaract in a year’s time, Rayan said;
“Rotaract has given me a lot over the years, from leadership experience to meaningful friendships and opportunities to serve, so I see this role as a chance to give back and support other clubs across Great Britain and Ireland.
I would like to see Rotaract GBI more connected, more visible, and more confident in telling its story.”
Our new Board of Directors officially start in their roles from the new Rotary year, 1st July.
Every Rotaractor’s journey begins with a desire to make a difference. Together, we turn that desire into action - building communities, growing connections, supporting one another, and empowering ourselves to lead.
