New Online Training Series Launched for Rotaractors

Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland (GBI) has launched its new 2026 online training series, designed to equip Rotaractors with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to strengthen their clubs and enhance their leadership impact.

The series, delivered virtually and accessible to members across Great Britain and Ireland, will provide practical guidance on key areas including membership, social media, project management and fundraising.

By offering flexible and engaging learning opportunities, Rotaract GBI aims to ensure our network can access high-quality support regardless of location and at every stage of their leadership journey.

The initiative reflects Rotaract GBI’s mission to deliver and host high-quality opportunities, resources, and guidance that enable every Rotaractor and club to flourish; nurture connection, leadership, and impact - helping our members turn ambition into action and create lasting positive change.

Managing the development and coordination of the series the Rotaract GBI Training Director, Heloisa Chambisse, said;

Rotaract is a world that equips and transforms its members. This training programme is designed exactly for that: to equip all club members with the necessary tools to fulfill their Rotaract duties and transform them into better professionals.

Kick starting the new series is a session with Clement Chinaza Owuamalam. Commonly and fondly known as Sir Clem, he is the past UK & Ireland Country Representative for Rotaract Europe and the Past Rotary International Rotaract Committee Member as well as being a Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation - An exemplary Rotaractor who has left his mark within the Rotary world!

This first session, taking place between 8-9PM on Thursday 19th February will be a membership roundtable. We acknowledge that gaining and attaining members is a challenge that many cubs face but this session is about finding the solutions! Sharing strategies for both university-based and community-based clubs.

Upcoming training sessions taking place throughout March and April will provide targeted, practical support for incoming and current club officers as they prepare for the new Rotary year.

In March, Rotaractors can access four dedicated sessions designed to strengthen core club operations and leadership capability.

  • On Tuesday 10th March, a focused Club Secretary training will equip prospective and incoming Secretaries with the essential tools to succeed in this pivotal role. The practical, hands-on session will guide participants through writing effective club meeting minutes, registering and managing members on myRotary – including processing membership changes – and creating a robust membership database to track engagement. The aim is to ensure every Club Secretary feels confident, capable and fully prepared to serve.

  • On Thursday 12th March, a dynamic session for Social Media Officers, delivered in collaboration with the Rotaract GBI Communications Director, will explore how to communicate a club’s impact effectively. Moving beyond simply posting online, the session will cover key Rotary branding guidelines, how to navigate and apply the Brand Center on myRotary, how to create engaging social media content, and how to advertise club activities strategically and professionally.

  • Public speaking takes centre stage on Thursday 19th March with a masterclass, delivered with our partners, will focus on writing and delivering persuasive speeches — an invaluable skill when securing sponsorship, forming partnerships, or inspiring prospective members to join. Designed to build confidence and clarity, the session will provide techniques that extend far beyond Rotaract into professional life.

  • Closing March’s programme on Tuesday 24th March is a comprehensive Project Management training. Recognising that delivering impactful service projects can feel daunting, this session will break down the ABCs of planning, creating, delivering and reviewing a club project. Participants will gain practical insight into establishing a Way of Working (WOW), agreeing on clear modus operandi guidelines, and conducting a skills audit to maximise team strengths — ensuring projects are delivered with structure, purpose and lasting impact.

The programme continues in April, with three further sessions focused on financial stewardship, leadership development and strengthening service and fellowship.

  • On Thursday 9th April, the Club Treasurer training will explore the essential responsibilities of maintaining a financially healthy club. The session will cover creating and managing budgets, opening bank accounts or switching mandates, and paying Rotary International membership fees via myRotary. By addressing the unique challenges faced in this role, the training aims to equip Treasurers with clarity, confidence and practical solutions.

  • On Thursday 14th April, a dedicated Leadership session will examine what it truly means to lead. Emphasising that leadership is a skill developed through experience and intentional growth, the session will explore the qualities of impactful leaders within Rotaract and beyond. Participants will gain insight into cultivating a leadership mindset that empowers both their clubs and their wider communities.

  • Finally, on Thursday 23rd April, a joint Social & Service Chair training will focus on two of Rotaract’s core values: Service and Fellowship. The session will provide Service Chairs with guidance on engaging members in meaningful projects aligned with Rotary’s seven areas of focus, while offering the opportunity to learn from past Chairs and exchange practical experiences. Alongside this, Social Chairs will explore how to cultivate fellowship, collaborate with other clubs and local businesses, and create engaging social events that strengthen member connection while supporting lasting impact.

Together, these sessions form a comprehensive development pathway for Rotaractors stepping into leadership roles, reinforcing Rotaract GBI’s commitment to equipping its members with the skills, confidence and support needed to thrive.

As the series develops, Rotaract GBI hopes to build formal training partnerships with external organisations and sector specialists, further enhancing the breadth and quality of opportunities available to members.

Rotaract clubs who would like to receive training on a theme or skill set not shown on our TicketTailor page can submit ideas through our training suggestion box.
